Hey, i’m katie, a graphic designer from St helens!
The Background
I’ve always been creative. From the moment I could hold a pencil, I rarely put one down. Art was a constant throughout my childhood, and growing up, it became the way I expressed myself and made sense of the world around me.
I wasn’t particularly academic, but I knew I was creative. While others followed more traditional paths, I found myself naturally drawn towards visual thinking, problem solving and design. Over time, that instinct led me to graphic design, where creativity meets structure and ideas become something tangible.
Choosing design wasn’t a sudden decision, but a gradual realisation that this was where I felt most confident and capable. It’s where I belong.
The Now
I feel incredibly fortunate to do what I love every day. For the past three years, I’ve been studying Graphic Design at university, developing my skills, refining my process, and deepening my understanding of thoughtful, strategic design.
Alongside my studies, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a range of clients while completing my Honours degree. Balancing real-world projects with academic learning has been invaluable, shaping not only how I design, but how I approach each brief with clarity and intention.
Outside the studio
Outside of design, I spend most of my time with my dogs, wandering through the British countryside. I’ve always loved being outdoors, and walking gives me space to think, notice the small details, and draw inspiration from the world around me. I also have a real passion for photography, capturing quiet moments, textures, and everyday details.
It’s not just a hobby; it sharpens my eye for composition, light, and perspective, and often informs the way I approach my design work, helping me see beauty and structure in unexpected places.
